I was very fortunate yesterday to be the guest of the Fire and Rescue Service in Lichfield. I was informed that apart from dealing with emergency situations a lot of work is being undertaken around prevention and they work very closely with Schools, Local Businesses and  and the Wider Community in educating and where required installing Smoke detectors. I was personally very impressed at the dedication and ongoing work that these  individuals do in our community.

I was also able to put on all the gear and for just a couple of minutes become a Fire Fighter. (Childhood ambition fulfilled)
