Village Walks

There is some fabulous countryside around Mavesyn Ridware and Hill Ridware and its all accessible via a network of ancient footpaths. Click here to see a map of public footpaths in the parish.

We’ve compiled two walks for you to enjoy. The Red Route and the Green Route. Both start and finish at the Chadwick Arms, but you can start or finish anywhere along the routes.

Both walks are on fairly level ground, but there are several stiles and gates that you’ll need to negotiate. One route will take around 40 minutes, the other about an hour and a half. You can also combine both routes into one long walk but that will obviously take a lot longer.

Remember to wear good stout shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, plus it’s also advisable to take a mobile phone with you. Also remember to follow the Countryside Code.

Here is the map you’ll need. There are copies on the walks pages, but if you click on this it’ll open into its own page and you’ll be able to re-size it before primting it.

Stiles are marked with blue dots
