The North Lichfield Initiative (NLI) is a community partnership committed to promoting the regeneration of the North Lichfield area. The partnership includes local residents, organisations, community representatives and voluntary groups from the North Lichfield area which is represented by the three council wards of Chadsmead, Curborough and Stowe.
Our vision
The vision of the NLI is to make North Lichfield an even better place to live, work and study by encouraging a greater sense of community.
We know, because we have shown it already through our work, that if communities work together they can improve the lives of people within them.
A lot of this success is down to local people who volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise to support the NLI’s work. Find out more about how you might help by looking at the Be Part of NLI – Be Involved page.
How the NLI works
The NLI works by bringing together residents, representatives, organisations and agencies so they can agree what needs to be done, create a plan and make sure it is acted on.
This approach has led to some big successes over a number of years. Many projects and events have taken place or are underway. There are two main kinds of work:
- Community and learning – projects that help community groups to thrive and individuals to develop their skills and knowledge so they can improve their lives and the lives of others.
- Transport and environment & community safety – projects that improve transport services for people in North Lichfield, that make the area’s public space more pleasant and green and that make the community safer for all.
